Pros

Salary slightly above market standard (it's a mousetrap), because this company struggles to find new talent due to its bad reputation.

Cons

From the very beginning, during the hiring process no socioeconomic investigation/ background check is ever made, thus they hire any type of person, no matter their past. The above point causes to meet undesirable coworkers such as nasty or even aggressive persons with low education and very poor manners. I had a coworker that burped so loud in the middle of the corporate building in front of everyone to demonstrate his "authority and good manners". Discrimination: I witnessed a case where a discriminatory promotion was made based on gender and physical attractiveness plus flirting. Others that best fit that position (more experience, even inside Grupo Salinas) were left aside simply because they were men or unattractive women. Pathetic work environment, back-stabs from the boss, co-workers and users. You will always work extra hours for free and may even work until midnight/early next day, but must show up at 9:00 AM, otherwise they will discount that day (bio-metrics are used to check everywhere). Working on weekends was not unusual. Verbal and physical aggressions even in the corporate building at Tlalpan. Once a pathetic "manager" treated me aggressively (verbally-yelling and physically-throwing objects) in front of everyone, because he didn't liked what I said. This is just an example and it's not the only aggression and not the worst that I witnessed/experienced. Not uncommon that coworkers hate, really, believe me, they HATE each other from the bottom of their souls. Premises are unfit: lack of enough WCs, lack of meeting rooms, overall lack of space, its common to see 4+ persons working on an area designed for just 2 persons. It normal to meet 5-6 persons in the toilets waiting for an available WC, this is really disgusting and anti-hygienic. Evacuation protocols are a mess. The group is unethical from head to toe: your contract will not be provided to you(if you ask for a copy, it will be denied to you), no payroll (no IMSS , INFONAVIT, AFORE, etc), no payroll stubs, letters of employment are denied to you even as an active employee, among others. There are many aspects where they deny you are/were a Grupo Salinas (former)employee. Of course this is not in compliance with the federal labor guidelines. They DO NOT care about employees, they employee-care programs are a simulation... a smoke curtain. There are more bad aspects, so many that I could write a book, but I think this provides a good and accurate insight. SERIOUSLY STAY AWAY. YOU DO NOT DESERVE TO WORK IN THIS GROUP. LOOK AWAY FOR BETTER OPTIONS. THIS GROUP HAS NASTY REPUTATION IN THE WORK MARKET.

Pros

Just the Net Salary which is a little above the average salary in Mexico. There is absolutely no other PRO that I can think of.

Cons

Lack of resources both from a human and infrastructure standpoint. The building where I work lack of proper evacuation exits/protocols so during the last Sep 19th earthquake my floor begun evacuating 20 minutes AFTER the earthquake had passed. Even lack of enough WCs per floor (2 WCs servicing a 300-employee floor) so bathrooms seem like meeting rooms. You will have to work extra hours daily and in some cases leave the office at 3 or 4 am, taxi expenses on you own. Working on weekends is not rare, of course with no extra hours paid at all. There is absolutely lack of leadership, bosses yield at you, put you down and insult you in front of everyone. The worst toxic work environment I have ever experience by far. You normally work under threat of being laid off. Disrespectful manners is very common even from subordinates. Grupo Salinas commits illegal actions such as not providing a copy of your contract or not providing legally tendered pay stubs...among other labor violations, in fact GS companies are among the most sued companies at PROFEDET...search and see for yourself .... I could be writing hours and hours about more CONS of this nasty group but in summary stay away from Grupo Salinas or its affiliates : Elektra, Total Play, Banco Azteca, UPAXER, TV Azteca, etc.
