Pros
The company has a clear vision and drive to expand beyond its legacy Automotive business and become a platform company for location technology. It has the right papers (leading map provider and trusted OEM partner for decades), a valuable asset with its map content, and owners that have deep pockets providing financial means for long term investment like HAD technology. HERE pays its employees well and promotes a culture of diversity and equal opportunity.
Cons
Despite its clear vision and strategy, HERE lacks the ability to execute effectively. After the 3 consecutive years of transformation and numerous organizational changes very little has improved in the ability to deliver. The issue lies within the company culture and can therefore not be fixed by merely changing the org charts back and forth. There is a general lack of accountability and enablement. HERE's Finance and HR departments have historically been mere administrative functions and the company has failed to grasp the strategic importance of these functions for many years. Although it is now slowly improving.
