Consulting company told me that I am getting a contract for a 6+ month project, but in fact it was set up to have a hard stop on Dec 31. So, because I started at the end of October it was just 2+ months. Also, nobody from managers or consulting company staff bothered to tell me that my contract ended on Dec 31. I had a lot of unfinished assigned work when I left on December 31 and I worked on New Year weekend. When I came to work on Jan 4 th, 2016 I found that my badge not working. Later got a call from my consulting company telling me that contract ended on Dec 31. Then my manager showed up and asked to relinquish a laptop with the badge. My team didn't know that I am departing, so, no knowledge transfer had been planned. I was also refused payment for my overtime hours on New Year weekend. Very unprofessional behavior from consulting company and HERE manager. Will never consider them as a client and also will never work for that consulting company. Is it a new normal to get workers on a contract by lying to them about contract details and duration? This could be however more of the consulting company's fault then HERE management.

Company appears to be in continuous state of reorganization and cost cutting, state of uncertainty about the future. There is a few opportunities for growth. Some places are highly political.
