Pros

Good exposure to financial services. If you are pro-active, you can learn some valuable skills that will boost your career path.

Cons

Pay is really poor and not linked to performance. Performance reviews are subjective / opaque in terms of remuneration. Targets are unreasonable and in some cases totally out of your control. Senior management are competent and aware. It is a deliberate strategy to keep costs down. In terms of culture, senior management is quick to blame and rule through fear, which I believe is why it takes so long for decisions to be made. Additionally, I know several colleagues who work a second job in the evenings and weekends to make ends meet.
