Very Corporate though offers some great Benefits.
Pros
1) Global company, with a lot of opportunities if you are the right person and willing to work very hard. 2) Amazing company benefits: being a global Company in the Healthcare space, they really go above and beyond any other company I have worked for. Vacation time is generous, 401k matching is unmatched. 3) While very corporate and large, company culture is generally pretty good, and work-life balance is generally looked well-upon depending on your position. I have personally witnessed the company be very supportive, flexible, and understanding with regard to employees, especially those who have fallen on hard times (e.g. been in accidents outside of work, or deaths in the family). 4) Global IT Help Desk is generally very helpful despite the large, seemingly unwieldy IT Infrastructure that is in place.
Cons
1) It's no secret that the bottom line is what matters the most. Company will regularly cut positions it feels will not contribute to the long-term vision; if you work hard, however, you can usually stay ahead of things. 2) There can be a lot of contention between different divisions, especially with regard to budgets. If divisions can offload the cost of some project or expense to another division, they will try to do so. 3) Company is very large, and always going through a lot of changes: Upper Management sometimes makes decisions which feel very short-sighted, or which have more basis in reporting than in reality. Often these decisions are only to increase profits in the short-term without looking at the holistic picture. End-of-quarter intervals can be very stressful as Company is aggressively trying to cut more and more costs.
