Pros

Meeting new people Flexible scheduling is available Able to develop relationships with repeat/long term guests

Cons

You will be dealing with guests who are angry about mistakes that were made by other people, other departments, or even issues that have literally nothing to do with anything at the hotel Boredom, boredom and boredom. You will spend hours just waiting for a guest to come through the door or for the phone to ring. You will have to work weekends and holidays

Management is awful

Pros

The place is clean, organized, and straight to the point about what they expect from their employees. You never have a doubt about what you should be doing. The pay is okay for what you're doing, and it was a tad laxer than other jobs I have had.

Cons

The upper management made the place unbearable. They planted cameras every which way in the building and sat in their offices waiting to catch people slipping, instead of doing their jobs, like keeping guests happy and the general upkeep of the hotel. Little things from food supplies, to kitchenware, to pool chemicals, to light bulbs proved difficult to obtain through management orders.

Room Attendant

Pros

I enjoyed talking presenting guests with great customer service in their room. I think it all starts with the housekeepers maintaining the cleanliness of the public and private (guests room) areas. It was a mandatory thing to make sure rooms were expected to be cleaned with top perfection. It just felt great to put a smile on a customers face while greeting them in the morning or whatever time of day when they walk through the halls.

Cons

It is alot of labor. Some coworkers aren't willing to work as a team.
