Pros

OnQ is a very good Property Management System and easy to use.

Cons

Working for Hilton was the goal I had while I worked front desk at a low budget independent property for many years. The hospitality industry will most likely make you hate people. Hilton was sadly no better. Low pay (around $10 with experience) for a lot of headache and stress. Standing all day, being busy juggling phones and dealing with cranky travelers who often yell and complain is no way to live. I had to get out.

Pros

People were nice. The lobby of the hotel was impressive. It was easy to get used to the pace of work.

Cons

Direct managers for front line staff weren't experienced enough to deal with a lot of the issues that came up every day. Bad customers were able to take advantage of low level managers.

Pros

Great benefits and paid time off, upper management appears to care about how the employees. The company is always striving for higher customer satisfaction. The company continues to grow, especially internationally. It is very normal for the company to have "random pizza day" or some other type of specialized snacks (smoothies, ice cream, or craft popsicles). The company wants you to continually improve yourself with Personal Development Plans, but it is difficult to get time to pursue those plans.

Cons

Lower level management doesn't appear to care if everyone is putting for the most effort, allowing many to do the minimum to get by. Too many people have been in the same entry level positions (10-20 yrs) and still burden other departments with inquiries they should know. Can be tough to move around in the company. Only a few departments are allowed to work from home full time or on a once a week basis. It takes FOREVER to get any type of system updates, sometimes 3-5 years and vital systems/programs seem to crash regularly and IT or the systems engineers don't know why. Compensation is rather low when we can see the impact we have on revenue.
