      Pros

      When I started at Honeywell it was a great place to work, they were very family oriented and cared about you as a person. After Allied Signal bought us things are progressively getting worse. I am in a union shop, so when we get a raise in wages our out of pocket medical premium goes up so we really do not see a raise in wages at all. We used to have excellent medical coverage but that keeps getting more expensive with less coverage. Sometimes i swear that they stay awake at night just trying to find ways to piss us off!

      Allied Signal becoming the parent company and the plant manager at Golden Valley.

      Honeywell: A Talent Focused and High Potential Company

      Pros

      Company is very focused on develop of personnel. It's systems and methodology for performance evaluation are excellent, allowing for easy visibility of talented individuals to the highest levels management. Additionally, this is an intelligently diversified company that allows it to ride out bumps in the economy while growing through acquisitions in high potential industries.

      Cons

      As a large publically owned corporation, it is susceptible to miscommunication and unnecessary duplication of effort between divisions. Additionally, some of its intra-divisional concepts on "healthy channel conflict" cause pain on a business unit level and results in wasted efforts and loss of focus on a total company perspective.

      Pros

      8% 401k matching after 5 or 6 years.

      Cons

      Terrible Leadership and lack of respect for workers. They are intent on sending all jobs overseas though there seems to be little technical or financial reason for doing so. They layoff all of the workers and then wonder why they have so much trouble getting things done and why no one wants to work there. They no longer provide a "holiday dinner" at Xmas. The mis-manage programs and under-staff projects and then expect employees to bail them out with free overtime.
