Pros

There are so many other companies to work for.

Cons

The products cause more pain to operate which is not balanced by the low cost. It is difficult to stand behind product. No one from China in the company seems to have any telecom experience yet they will stand up and tell US companies how to operate... very funny to witness. Life is a power point and somewhere in the company, a deputy general of PPT division exists. Usually, "Local" employees are not hired by their skills on their resume but rather by the potential connections to companies on their resume (seen as foot in the door). Company is not a telecom equipment provider. It is a manufacturer. Customers should be very aware of this. Lying and faking is "normal" in China. Customers should be very cautious when dealing with Chinese companies. Huawei's expenses are financed by employee's credit cards... then they have to fight the company to get repaid....even after local management approval, some one in HQ China can over-rule. There must be only 5 corporate credit cards in the whole company. Can "employee ownership" be a ponzi scheme? Could be interesting...times ahead. Xenophobic

Pros

* Good, consistent bonuses * Benefit plans comparable or better than most companies * Large, stable company, doing very well globally

Cons

* All project decisions are made in China, decision making process is unclear, and there is little or no local participation in the process * Very little employee communication about the company, other projects, long term plans etc. * Little or no sharing between projects * Career growth limited if you don't read and write Mandarin * No stock options, RSUs etc. * Uncomfortable work environment if you don't speak Mandarin - a lot of business conducted in Mandarin, most hallway conversations in Mandarin and somewhat loud

Pros

Most people at the company are good to work with.

Cons

Management discourage contractors to clock in for overtime hours but expect them to get the job done, however, that can only be possible if they work overtime. Many are miserable and are looking to get the heck out. There are way too many flaws in the internal software system, and it takes months to try to get thngs corrected with no improved change. The company doesn't seem to CARE to correct them, which is very dissapointing. I was told that this company isn't even owned by its employees as proclaimed. This company is very shady.
