Pros

-salary definitely above average than most companies (not talking about first class students) -working culture may not suitable for locals but it actually depends on the department and who ur boss is (pray more if u decide to hop in) -best place to start as a fresh graduate or zero experience employee, once u survive more than 1 year u can survive anywhere (not joking)

Cons

-dont expect to work only on fix time, u have to constantly improve urself to remain competitive -Once being place into a project, working 24/7 is quite a norm -customer centric culture, expect to deliver the best other than keeping the job done (which means adapting to high stressful KPI is a requirement here)

Good to enjoy life

Pros

Positions for non-chinese workers are stable but cannot get higher easily. If you don't care about your personal reputation, and you don't mind that the chinese workers from the mainland China keep propagating the news from the chinese government saying affairs about Taiwan, USA, Russia-Ukrain, just join and you will enjoy the easy going work style.

Cons

Usually the mainland chinese coworkers will get the most benefits and information about the projects probably due to their language advantages as well as the connection with the headquarter in China. People in headquarters of China usually "respect" Canadian chinese workers, counting on them as no other research centers in the world having so many chinese compatriots to speak chinese with them. Comparatively, non-chinese workers are just doing nothing important or the chinese coworkers only assign hard tasks to non-chinese coworkers. Chinese coworkers usually create prizes for themselves, having better promotion easily, better bonus, etc. Still, the company has to fill up themselves with non-chinese workers to show their being "international", plus I think chinese culture carries some disadvantages in research: Quick and dirty, less scientific and less rational, based on correlation and "gut feeling". I believe that the headquarter of China knew about their disadvantages but hopefully the non-chinese workers would receive more chance, although being impossible due to the "political games" being set by the chinese workers in Canada.

Pros

The company was competitive in the industry with cutting edge technology

Cons

The company never adapts to the culture of the country that it resides. Rather, it is rooted with the mother company's Chinese culture and lack of work life balance. The leadership does not respect the employees nor give much flexibility at work. Overloaded workload and demanding management style pushes employees away. The company has no intention to improve nor care for its employees.
