Pros

As far as the team dynamic goes away from the Management, there are still some great people to learn from and work with at IBI. Get your experience and leave for better opportunities.

Cons

Quite possibly one of the worst places I have worked. Having worked over 30+ hours straight at the office, without leaving, in addition to multiple all-nighters, I can attest to the minimal work-life balance that exists here, lack of care to mental health, and the constant stress you're put under from Management, who care not one bit. The work culture is riddled with politics, back-stabbing, throwing hardworking individuals under the bus (I've seen many quit on the spot as a result), HR siding with poor management (seriously be careful in case you ever take any case to HR, politics always wins here - as many reviews I'm reading here have pointed to), excusing what many bring to light during exit interviews, thus there's always that notion of their being a revolving door, and people leaving. Having "one-on-one morale meetings" once people leave is hardly reassuring, when Managers and Leads are still at the company due to those resignations/terminations happening in the first place, who treat employees with the utmost disrespect. The fact I've seen an entire department, over the course of 12 months, either quit or have workers terminated, but the Manager and Lead be the only people to remain, shows HR is not listening to the real problem. Zero tact. Get your experience and get out.

Thank you for taking the time to review your experience at IBI Group. While we are happy to hear that you worked with some great people and learned a lot, we are sorry to see that you faced some challenges as well. IBI Group is a fast-paced, client driven environment that may not be suitable for everyone, but it’s also what makes it exciting and challenging for the right fit! Due to the nature of the consulting industry, tight deadlines are not easily avoidable and we strive to create a positive, flexible working environment that supports a healthy work-life balance nonetheless. We have several initiatives in place like our Employee Assistance Program and our Wellness Program to support employees with both their physical and mental health. We appreciate all feedback that we receive, and this is just one example of a platform that we use to listen to both our past and present employees to help us to continue to improve our culture. As you have mentioned, we also have our exit interview process where interviews are conducted thoroughly by our HR professionals and then trends are shared tactically to senior leaders while also maintaining the confidentiality of the process. We thank you again for your review, and we wish you success in your future endeavours!

Pros

Knowledgeable employees, interesting projects and office space

Cons

The worst workplace ever I've ever had. Don’t waste your time at IBI. The work culture is riddled with politics, back-stabbing, throwing hardworking individuals under the bus (I've seen many quit on the spot as a result). The communication is horrible and teamwork is just a lie. The HR always takes the side with poor management and doesn’t care at all. The company turnover is high but the manager(s) and lead(s) are the only people to remain. The main outcome of the company policy is a mass exodus of skilled and technical employees. Quality and technicality are the last things managers and leaders care about.

Pros

The only positive I took from my experience here were the amazing team members I learned so much from. There is definitely a huge amount of talent on the team with some great personalities.

Cons

I've never worked in such a toxic office environment. Management is completely inept at creating a smooth and efficient workflow and was unwilling to hear suggestions on ways to improve this. I tried on multiple occasions to voice my concerns with how the department was managed and it fell on deaf ears. Other team members had agreed with the issues, but were either too afraid to come forward for fear of retaliation or already knew things would never change. Internal deadlines are completely ignored and not enforced which created chaos and disorganization between departments. You're constantly assured "this never happens", when in fact it occurred on every project and finger pointing and blame was used to explain mistakes or rushed work. Work/life balance was non-existent because the team took on any and everything in such a disorganized way. You would be placed on something with an impossibly short deadline, which resulted in unnecessary overtime on every project. Some would stay well into the night to complete a project that could have been finished earlier with better planning and department management. Career advancement and professional growth was not supported and often discouraged. When presenting these issues to HR they completely ignored the problem and Management continued to run the department into the ground. The turnover rate is shockingly high and it's not "just the industry, you either sink or swim". Good employees stay with good leadership and a well run department keeps talented people.

Thank you for sharing your experiences and outlook on your time with IBI Group. We greatly value your feedback. We are happy to hear that you enjoyed working with an amazing team made up of talented individuals. We take pride in our people and strive to foster an environment that attracts high-performing professionals. We regret to hear that you faced some challenges while you were with us. While there will always be ebbs and flows in workload given the nature of the industry we’re in, we work hard to ensure work-life balance is supported and encouraged within each of our teams. We exemplified that by launching a formal Working from Home Corporate Policy at the beginning of 2020 (before the COVID-19 Pandemic), and we were able to take our entire global workforce of nearly 3000 professionals remote in the span of 10 days at the start of the COVID-19 Pandemic. Nonetheless, we value your input and can guarantee you that we continue to work to ensure that experiences like yours remain a rarity at IBI Group as we continue to work together to define the cities tomorrow. All the best to you in your career and your future endeavours.
