Pros

15% discount - bluejeans dress code

Cons

Clueless managers that skate on their duties and only worry about micro management - NO career path. - NO support from upper management. - NO hiring from within. - It's common place to see new faces frequently that show up out of now where and are suddenly on the Call Center Police Force - ( floor managers). These are external hires - and that very process alone breeds contempt for the job and results in high turnover - Thanksgiving Holiday is NOT a paid holiday - Christmas Holiday is NOT a paid holiday - Consistent payroll mistakes which impact your pay and very difficult to get resolved through management and HR

Pros

Health care is great. Good company sustainability wise.

Cons

Recent overhaul of management system and job processes. Shifted focus completely to the customer at the expense of coworkers. No room for moving up- unless someone physically leaves the store there aren't management positions.

Pros

Work felt like play to me because I love design and furniture. They have restructured the Communication and Interior Design Dept. since I left, but I was in charge of designing and mantaining the room sets, and work in collaboration with the Sales dept. Benefits are great. My coworkers who had babies while working there said all they spent at the hospital was $300 for the delivery. You also have the opportunity to travel to other IKEA's overseas or domestically (expenses paid) to help with the buildups of new stores.

Cons

The pay is not great, and you have to help the Sales dept. on the floor during big holidays (Black Friday etc...) even though you are not in the Sales dept.
