The ugly side

Pros

Good work balance on some teams Unlimited PTO

Cons

Some team managers are bullies. Watch out SMB and specifically the employer mobile product team. Constant scolding and unpredictable shifts in behaviors and mood swings. People are yelled at for no factual reasons; some on promotion paths are let go in a matter of a few weeks. On a company level, it doesn’t seem people genuinely feel proud of their products or care about their users. Decisions are made top down and are driven by mostly leadership’s preferences.

Hi there. Thank you for leaving us a review about working at Indeed. Bullying and intimidation are all very serious allegations which we will look into internally. We do not tolerate or encourage such behaviour at Indeed, and strongly believe our leaders should never put employees in uncomfortable and disrespectful situations. We would love to speak to you further about this and gain some more insight so please reach out to your HR Business Partner, Brian Vogel.

Pros

There are a lot of perks here. Work life balance is good (mostly), open PTO, competitive salary, and then of course the ability to travel as well as office niceties (coffee bar, free food and snacks, etc). Leadership truly does care about the employee experience.

Cons

The culture has changed a lot as a result of too rapid growth and expansion with minimal change management, and unfortunately the collaborative, idea driven, innovative aspect of the company that made it such a unique place to work has been lost in a lot of ways.

Pros

The pay can be fantastic Great sales training for someone who has not been in sales before Some fantastic people Office perks, free food, office aesthetic is great

Cons

Wild favoritism, favored reps are consistently pushed over their quota threshold through backdated revenue. These reps are also given better leads consistently. It’s something that was noticed by even sales team leads and has never been addressed New products are poor. Sales strategy is as simple as “let’s add headcount and try to sustain 100% YOY growth. No market analysis, no real strategy. Headcount and that’s it. Zero transparency with regards to sales targets that are constantly changing. Pay structure is also constantly changing Some great managers, others who have advanced simply because of tenure and luck Your book and your managers opinion of you can have incredible impact on your success, both good and bad. If you’re in a tough vertical with a bad manager...good luck
