Pros

Great learning environment, with talented and motivated people especially at the country office level.

Cons

Work load is unevenly distributed. Some months you're overwhelmed with multiple project happening at the same time. Some months you're without anything to do not sure if your contract is still secure. Lack of employment security is huge drawback, but I guess that's everywhere in the international development non-profit these days.

Impact-driven but slow career growth

Pros

Working with a passionate and impact-driven group of people on important development challenges

Cons

Limited and very slow career growth. At times, working on projects for which the sole aim is maintaining IPA's business, even though their contribution to development is tenuous at best.
