Pros

Linked with top researchers. Can sometimes lead to good job opportunities. Good hands-on field experience.

Cons

Can be difficult for expatriates, living with local wages while paying US school debt, following safety protocols meant for Kenyans though the risks to each group differ. Some improvements made in the latter area when I was there.
