Pros

Good highly qualified local staff. Friendly team.

Cons

Very unqualified international management in leadership positions with rare exceptions. People who have no idea about project work and procedures. Inconsistency of actions, lack of unified rules and approaches. Absence of understanding of the context of the country.

Pros

- Meaningful work providing strong sense of purpose - Amazing coworkers - Easy segue into international development

Cons

- Overworked and underpaid - Long hours and high stress - Most difficult role at the IRC…if possible to do employment or other department, much better work/life balance can be achieved
