Pros

The IRC is one of the largest INGOs with a budget approaching or exceeding $1 billion. It is present in crisis countries and therefore places great emphasis on emergency response, in particular support for refugees and internally displaced people.

Cons

Because of its focus on emergency response, long-term development goals are not sufficiently reflected in the organisation. Also, compared to other large INGOs, IRC is relatively centralised and vertical.
