Good service delivery in some areas.

Cons

The IRC is run like a corporation, not like a humanitarian organization. At headquarters, I was surrounded by careerists who never really reflected on the values of the work itself. It felt artificial and mechanical, and there was no room to grow.

Good brand name in the industry, looks good on paper, decent benefits

Cons

No room for advancement, arbitrary application of policies, weak management, no room for advancement, appearances matter more than substance. The whole organizaiton is dedicated to David Millbands political ambitions, not helping anyone

Rewarding work. Wonderful clients. Smart, compassionate colleagues.

Cons

Despite IRC Way standards and practices, they do not support their staff or follow up appropriately on concerns addressed; investigations to gross misconduct are ignored. Culture of care is virtually non-existent, despite beautiful presentations that would indicate otherwise.
