      Great team but crippled by bureaucracy

      Pros

      Great clients and co-workers, meaningful work, fun team, good place to gain a lot of experience in different areas.

      Cons

      Upper management doesn't look out for interests of majority of employees, very low salaries, lack of training, bureaucracy,very limited room for growth (but depends on office)

      Pros

      IRC Baltimore has a fantastic staff, with client relationships strongly emphasized. The staff is incredibly patient with interns, and everyone works as a team. Great, friendly group that is 100% dedicated to the cause, no one cuts corners here!

      Cons

      The office is severely understaffed and it's stressful working environment if you're not accustomed to the field. Because the work is incredibly difficult, mentally and emotionally, it can become difficult to maintain a good work/life balance, which becomes that much more essential to your sanity. If not you will burnout, quickly.

      The International Rescue Committee builds staff capacity and jobs are secured there. Besides job security and staff capacity building, salary is attractive.

      Cons

      The International Rescue Committee has a minor cons like transportation benefit for staff's wife or husband (family members). The vehicle policy needs to be revisited.
