Great Company, Great Prospects

Pros

Large company means there a job role for everybody - no matter how ambitious you are or what you want to work in. Was trusted with a high levels of responsibility after proving myself and have always been in control of my career. The level to which you work I have always found within my own power - my work life balance is up to me. Exciting company to work in, lots of projects and programmes to get involved with and a great sense of belonging to the brand too.

Cons

Is a bit of a tendency to do things "because we've always done it like that". Sometimes difficult for new fresh ideas to cut through the red tape and older colleagues. Occasionally unrealistic time frames are cascaded from seniors during already busy periods and late changes cause chaos to programmes from time to time. A bit more stability would help but it keeps us all busy at least!

Pros

Lots of training and learning opportunities. Including wide variety of placements and training courses. Large investment and encouragement for Graduate development. Responsibilities are given early on. Good career prospects.

Cons

Scheme structure lacks a company wide standard, but this is already improving.

Great company but still room for improvement

Pros

-Many opportunities for personal development -Once you've proven yourself, management are happy to let you take on new challenges and solve the bigger problems within the business -Good opportunity to progress within the business -Competitive salary and benefits -The people in general are friendly and helpful -Great mix of work and social activities available -The products are aesthetically fantastic and there's a good drive for continual improvement from senior leadership Overall, I look forward coming into the office in the mornings!

Cons

-Resources aren't fully used; there are people with various skills who aren't stretched or given the chance for those skills to be honed -Communication within departments and cross-functionally are terrible. Some people have a tendency to let their inboxes be cluttered and aren't always keen to talk via phone or face-to-face -Too many assumptions being made about others' knowledge, so there's a lot of miscommunication of information (not helped by the ever-increasing acronym jargon) -Still too traditional in terms of work silos and approach to health and safety (it's considered a burden rather than an opportunity to improve) -A lot of politics (e.g. it shouldn't matter if you and I don't get along personally, we should still be able to work together in an effective and efficient way!)
