Pros

The benefits package at KPMG was very good. On the audit side, it is possible to have a fairly flexible schedule; as long as the job was getting done, there was no micro-managing;a bonus to those of us working with kids. CPE was another beneift, one I didn't recognize until leaving and struggling to get 40 hours when at KPMG I'd get 100+ hours easy. Finally, getting the opportunity to visit numerous client in varying industries is a nice perk to learning more about the accounting world and how different firms do things

Cons

The downside was a result of my personality. I'm a heads down, get the work done person; not a reality for an audit manager who is expected to bring in business, attend trustee meetings, etc.

Pros

The global opportunties within the firm are amazing and the ability to work in many different parts of the world as well as with people from all over the world is a great reason to work for KPMG. I am in the process of transferring to a different service line, which is fully supported by my managers. They also train staff very well and support staff in all their studies.

Cons

There can be long hours and at time work is hard without as much recognition as you might want.

Pros

Quite simply....the people ! The entire company seems to be staffed with very bright, enthusiastic people who all (well...most) have very high degrees of emotional intelligence. It's a challenging an rewarding place to work. The wide ranging disciplines can be really useful as well for those wishing to gain experience of multiple industry sectors. For some there is also an opportunity to travel - although this isn't all good news - it can mean long days travelling but you do get to see some interesing places, meet some fascinating people and experience new cultures and ways of working

Cons

The hours can be long...and you can be away from home for long periods of time. If you like your 9-5 job - then this isn't the company for you.
