Pros

Superlative quality of health care Excellent health benefits at discounted rates Pension vested after only 5 years Diverse workplace Some managers are great LOTS of old-timers here, showing it's a goid place for a career, not just a job My workload is gradually becoming humane.

Cons

Salary is probably a bit below market (Atlanta) Nearly everyone is overworked. Some managers think themselves omniscient Some employees have bad reputations among management that are wholly undeserved. You might get fired for not doing the work of 3 people, while your toxic manager who destroys department morale is given truly amazing leeway.

Pros

Providing service to patients is what makes the job worth coming to each day. Job security is high.

Cons

Those with a strong work ethic are verbally appreciated, but overworked due to the subpar work by others. Lack of healthy work/life balance for some positions - nothing other than full-time plus is available. Failure to sufficiently protect against ongoing HIPPA violations. Culture varies great by department. Learn as much as you can about the culture of the department before accepting a position.

Pros

The pay is amazing, no company in my area can compare. You can easily make 50k to 100k with no degree by working overtime in the KP call centers. They offer work from home positions! The benefits are OUT OF THIS WORLD, except there’s no PPO option so you have to have KP insurance. Oh and you get tuition reimbursement along with education hours to use when you have to go to school.

Cons

When you’re ready to move on from any department it’s all seniority based so make sure you have years under your belt otherwise you won’t make the cut. The call centers are stressful. Your schedule will never change EVER!
