Pros

Largest non-profit integrated health care delivery organization We help bring people in this world and ease their suffering on their way out Cutting edge research and innovation on the care delivery side Work-life balance

Cons

Lack of established career path/promotion opportunities for young-to mid career professionals Getting ahead is about who you know, rather than what you know Not a meritocracy but more of a bureaucracy Pay for performance is a misnomer Inter-entity, inter-regional organizational structure and turf wars are frustrating place

Pros

Great work/life balance Awesome benefits Incredible vacation time Guaranteed annual raises Decent pay

Cons

Horribly inefficient One of the slowest moving organizations I have ever worked at Management and their decision making is horrendous Way too many managers that have never worked anywhere else in the last 30 years other than KP Most managers absolutely do not have a clue about how to do anything well Will drive anyone with any initiative to do things better insane
