Pros

•Kroger is VERY generous with their PTO, Health and Wellness, Personal Days. Coming with 5 weeks total annually. • You stay extremely busy which makes the workday fly by. •You get your own office if you are assigned to a store. Floaters do not. • You get to plan fun events.

Cons

•Workload vs pay is way low! They need to pay the RRS way more than they do for the amount of work we have. •There are not enough hours in the day or week to accomplish everything we are expected to do. On top of people constantly coming to us with questions and needing help with things. We have several reports, and micromanagement calls weekly. Plus we plan all store level events. If we do not get everything done, we are come down on pretty hard. It can be pretty overwhelming. •Work life balance feels very unbalanced. We are expected to be at the store for certain days through the week. Taking two days of in a row would put you behind for the week. It can be extremely draining and burn out is easy. •it’s easy to feel undervalued and unappreciated with the workload and the little amount of pay you get in this role but it is a great stepping stone for someone interested in HR as a career. •You won’t have time for a break. It’s just not possible in this position. You work your butt off.

Pros

Big company so many locations if you need to transfer. Health, dental, etc. Base daily experience will depend on in store managers.

Cons

Will cut your hours without notice to hit corporate numbers. Seems to have unrealistic expectation on how much one person can accomplish in a work day and prefers to be understaffed. Base daily experience will depend on in-store managers.

Pros

Kroger has some interesting projects, in a very active industry. They aren't a traditionally technology focused company. Kroger rewards loyalty and it's easy to become a long time employee if you can stick out the inefficencies.

Cons

The culture of the company is based in Cincinnati, and they don't do a good job of communicating or collaborating with satellite offices. Despite being new to technology, the company has developed a lot of rigid policies. There are many teams all pulling in different directions, without a coherent strategy. Each team has authority over their small corner of the system, and they fight to defend it against the needs of other teams.
