Utter Chaos

Pros

Fantastic co-workers and supervisors, for the most part, our customers are wonderful. Management is very accommodating when any employees are ill or have family emergencies. Insurance even when you're part-time, even though it's not cheap and the deductibles are insane.

Cons

Complete lack of communication... from corporate all the way down to the baggers. It's like an extremely convoluted game of telephone. It's very obvious that upper management doesn't care about the employees working in their stores. They ignore phone calls and emails, allow employees to go without earned promotions and raises for months and then act like they don't understand why employees were so upset about it. New employees hire in, get trained and then leave for better-paying jobs because raises are untimely, morale is horrible, and if upper management doesn't care about you, why should you have any loyalty to a company that continues to cause discontent and chaos for you on a financial level? And after being there for so many years, unless you're not union, you will hit a pay cap and be expected to accept this is your professional life because there is no balance of work and quality of life.

Pros

Flexible scheduling, Ability to be very active at work.

Cons

Low pay, always understaffed, constant changes in management, very poor communication. Very physical work, company takes every thing you will give, but offers little in return. Management is hostile towards the labor union and uses it as an excuse to avoid addressing bad management practices.

Pros

There is a set schedule.

Cons

The schedule is too inflexible. The pay is crap for the amount of work -- doing the work of AT LEAST two people. Only work with one other person -- the provider. Extremely busy. Doing front end intake, back end intake, call backs, inventory, etc. Extremely strict attendance policy -- 1 min late is an occurrence. Life happens. Poor communication at all levels.
