Pros

If you don't mind living your whole life in the store, good pay Potential for moving up, if you want to - I worked with Co-Managers who started as baggers

Cons

Unofficial 13-hour shifts Unrealistic expectations Employee discount on Kroger brand items only - 10% 6-day work weeks Scheduled 32 hours during holidays to avoid giving you extra holiday pay Absolutely NO work/life balance

Pros

Decent compensation. Develop close relationships with assistant if you are lucky enough to have one. Not a five day work week.

Cons

Reviews for this company were good when the previous management was in place. Currently the NP rating is 1.6/5 stars for good reason. Nurse Practitioners are micro-managed and demeaned. Nurse Practitioners are not backed by management and are allowed little clinical judgement. Shifts are often more than 12 hours long. It is a very negative environment. Personal time is often invaded by requests to work over time due to extremely high turn over rate, demands and questions. Management seems to believe in trickle down negativity. Management has figured out how to keep the promised productivity bonus on paper, while making it impossible to achieve, thus saving them money. It is a shell game or a carrot that moves just out of reach. TLC is now managed by grocers who treat Nurse Practitioners as checkers instead of the very well educated professionals they are - judged by "scan rate" rather than quality care. No growth opportunity or ability to innovate. Accrue good vacation time but not approved to take it. Good CE compensation as long as courses apply to simple retail medicine. So many more negatives, there is not enough room to express it. If one decides to leave the organization, no references will be given, even if someone has been an excellent hard working employee. This is unconscionable. Very poor management.
