Pros

Employees are the company's greatest asset. There is a long and storied culture within Lowe's that calls for fair and equal treatment of all employees. Employees are empowered to take care of customers to the best of their ability. The job is fun, fast and action-packed. Those employees that give 100% every day will enjoy the job and reap the benefits in return. The job is definitely challenging whether at an entry level position or a management level position. Lowe's annually seeks employee imput in regards to ideas on how the company can improve employee condiotions and morale wihin the stores.

Cons

As in any large company Lowe's is dependant on several layers of management to carry on the company philosophy and policies. Lowe's has many very good managers that deliver on the leadership princiiples that Lowe's espouses. Due to fast growth and a fast-paced store environment there are times that managers are promoted to positions beyond the scope of their current abilities.

Pros

My co-workers are wonderful, helpful, friendly people. Customers are very nice. I really enjoy being able to help them. Working a flexible schedule is better for me than an "8-5" job.

Cons

Some managers treat us like we are irresponsible children that need micro-managing. They come across as very rude and disrespectful. I feel that we are all very hard working individuals trying to make a living and we should be treated as such. Clearly the managers feel deserving of our respect but they don't seem to reciprocate.

Pros

If nothing else the illusion of job security seems to be a great place to start. These people have ALWAYS! had their heart in the right place and I am comfortable saying that in a given atmosphere where conditions play out as we are trained at Lowe's there would be nothing to complain about. Benefits, Good steady pay, opportunities to better yourself from within the ranks, friendship, working with the public. Programs for those in need. Honesty at least looking past store level. Concern for integrity all are "best" reasons to work for Lowe's.

Cons

Favoritism, 10 percent pay increase or minimum pay (whichever is higher) upon promotion and no wavering from that. HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE management (at least at my location). Favoritism, off the street (hiring as a favor for a friend by a member of management especially Store Manager). Unrealistic deadlines, Hectic and crowded aisles (which really is a good thing just hectic). Rude disrespectful customers.
