Pros

I receive a paycheck and am there when bargains come up

Cons

Lowe's will change your position on a wim If you are not liked for any reason there will be no advancement for you. Management talks to their employees like they are children although some are children and behave as such some of us are not and think we should be treated with respect

Pros

The best reasons for working at Lowes that i have noticed in my store is that a majority of the crew is there to support one another. There are a rare few exceptions to that but i believe you have one of those people every where you go. Lowes has a good medical insurance plan that really takes care of its employees. I know that Lowes as a company as a whole cares about customer satisfaction. At my store there are many employees who go out of there way to make sure the customer is completely satisfied.

Cons

I feel that some of the downsides at working at Lowe's if you are a part-time employee is that you have no sick pay. I feel that a part-time employee should get sick pay at least at half the time a full-time employee does. A part-timer gets sick just like a full-timer does and is in need of the money just as much if not more than a full-timer. I feel vacation time should be given at one week outright for a part-time person because otherwise they are only paid 4hrs when during the summer they work generally 40 hours.

Pros

Given the requirements of the position, the job is fairly well compensated. If you're a home-owner, the employee-discount can go a long way towards cutting costs on home-improvement. The position is fairly undemanding, if at times mind-numbingly so.

Cons

There is little - or no - opportunity for advancement once you are hired as a cashier. Most of upper management has been hired from outside - few, if any, are internally promoted. Managers take little interest in the development of their employees. Feedback, if and when it is given, almost always take a negative form. Managerial supervision more often than not borders on policing.
