      Strong brand, great safety record, but decision making takes too long

      Pros

      - strong brand which is recognized all over the world, employees identify themselves with the 'crane' - great safety culture, aircraft are well maintained - diverse job families within the corporation and possibilities to change jobs between companies - good benefits, but they are becoming more and more limited

      Cons

      - Corporate culture is too "German" - too much time goes by before decisions are made due to the need for general consent for every decision - cost measures are often questionable, lots of opportunities for cost-savings go by because they are not pushed enough - only few international managers or employees from different industries in headquarters - not innovative and cost-effective enough to withstand emerging competitors - limited career development possibilities for women (on paper yes, but not in real life)

      Pros

      very good training programs, "Lufthansa family" feel with the colleagues, good flying benefits, especially for the staff based in Germany

      Cons

      Very poor pay, therefore a big turnover. The discounted tickets are quite challenging to use, as they are on a stand by basis. Once you are a passenger, the flight personnel give you hard times by trying to discriminate you. It really does happen a lot!
