      Pros

      Great opportunities for advancement - need to make supervisor aware of career goals and work together to determine next steps required to get there. Strong Culture and Core Values. The most consistent hotel company in the business. The biggest asset - people! Endless opportunities, especially for those that want to move around. If you do a good job, it gets noticed!

      Cons

      Hours can be demanding at times. Have to pay dues and work your way up the ladder. Some management needs to walk to talk - too hands off.

      Benefits Training (if your at a Marriott Corporate owned location)

      Cons

      If you are at a franchised location you receive half the Marriott Training, half the opportunities. At my location specifically they didn't promote from within and was impossible for transfering to another property. Managers are all lazy and leave everything to Front Desk associates to handle everything. I can't stand to be a manager here because I have a heart and avoid delegate the front desk or "line associates" the dirty work but the upper managers get mad about it and ask whats wrong with me?

      postiion is great for interacting with guest on a daily basis. good position for expanding communication skills weather verbal or non verbally opportunity to work Independently to gain the experiences of managerial skills

      Cons

      lack of communication between management and staff unfairness in the work place minimum of wage increase given to all employees
