Pros

Manager role is provided by Morgan Stanley which is equivalent to Senior Software Engineer in Software industry. There are very few pros. - Bonus provided is more than expected. - Brand name in Financial Services (Investment Banking)

Cons

- First of all there is a fear of 'Lay Off' hunt you constantly. In 2022-2023 there was lay-offs a couple of times. It's from lower level to upper level. Please do a google search before joining. - No learning curve, no growth. - If you love technology, then this is not the place for you. - No work life balance.

Pros

Great opportunity to learn from some of the hardest working, most intelligent and successful people in the industry. Most if not all people within the wealth management division that I actively work with (team/bankers/management/other associates) are direct about work and non-passive. There’s really no sugar coating a lot of what we handle b/c time is almost always of the essence. I tend to prefer the no BS attitude (and everyone obviously remains professional).

Cons

Within WM there’s probably not a whole lot of upward movement (especially outside of NYC) unless you eventually want to become and advisor and/or you out the hours in outside of work to build yourself up professionally via financial designations/certifications. Same story goes for pay.
