Pros

The job is fulfilling. The team are terrific and the vast majority of colleagues are very committed to a common goal of good patient care and supporting the organisation.

Cons

The organisation is of neccessity politically responsive and this can take precedence of the needs of patients and the wellbeing of staff. The organisation demonstrates little memory for contributions over and above the norm but is rigid and at times draconian regarding HR issues. This often results in disillusionment and anxiety regarding thinking outside the box and innovation

Pros

A very rewarding institution to work for with pleasant staff and ideal working surroundings and conditions. An excellent opportunity to provide help to those who need it.

Cons

The management structure tend to be particularly top heavy in the middle management structuring - this leads to a cascade of responsibilities to maintain targets putting pressure on those at the grassroots level.
