Pros

Salary, paid holiday and regular hours (although lots of unpaid overtime!) I really can't say it was a satisfactory role with the rewards you would expect like job satisfaction etc. I worked with some great people that did also have the same experiences so there was a sense of togetherness! It had not always been like this just really in the last 5 years.

Cons

Disorganised management structure and lack of patient focus was the main downfall. The working atmosphere was unnacceptable due to constant stress and pressure, so many staff were unwell with this and on antidepressants or self medicated with alcohol. Appalling lack of concern about the well being of staff in some posts. No consideration for what really matters for the outcomes for patients they are more concerned about hitting government targets etc. Although there s supervision in place the was more of a tool for monitoring efficiency than anything else. Some staff treat each other in a terrible way without any respect or care especially the medics and managers. The constant restructuring makes working there too difficult and as you no longer have access to the basic tools like a phone/desk/decent computer this made it so difficult to do your job and the stress was just increased. Some team managers were just not up to it and let you down regularly. Some staff didn't care at all about their patients/clients and just played the system to look like theory were doing lots of work but were definitely not, yes some were put from time to time on 'development programmes/increased supervision or whatever they choose to call it! but nothing ever happened and nobody seemed to care. This is not a trust to work for if you do care about the wellbeing of your patients/clients. If you prefer to spend most of your time completing pointless documentation (only looked at for audits etc.) sitting in meetings, looking for a desk to work at!, meeting all the silly targets (government set!) and you don't really care about delivery quality care then this is the trust to work for!
