Pros

Oracle is a highly stable, well-structured organization that will help you develop yourself into a better engineer. It may not be the most exciting software you'll ever write, but you'll learn great development practices and will always feel safe and secure in your job. There is always a clear path to advance your career, which is something that should never be taken for granted.

Cons

Working at Oracle can sometimes feel like a snapshot of the movie "Office Space" at times. It can be tedious, and the products are not particularly exciting.

Pros

- Flexible schedule. - A lot of good benefits. - In the best part of the city. - Nice initial pay. - Relocation bonus i you come from another state. - Very smart people to work with. - Some teams make their employees travel a lot and/or take courses, certifications and conferences. - You can apply to swap teams after being here for a year or a year and a half.

Cons

- Depending on the team you could get stuck responding to support tickets. - The code base for some products is very outdated. - The company takes too long to adapt to an ever evolving market. - Few and low pay raises. - Promotions don't necessarily mean you'll get a significant raise. - New employees could start earning more than someone that's been in the company for 5 years, for example. - The recruiting process can take a few weeks or several months, it depends on the team you are applying for and it's very inconsistent.
