Pros

Job stability. Flexible hours. The ability to work from home when that is convenient.

Cons

In my experience (which may be different from others), Oracle software production is akin to a production line, designed to prevent mistakes. But there is also no room for creativity. There appears to be no consideration of the needs of designers/developers, for instance a quiet work environment. Salaries are not commensurate with experience/ability.

Pros

Oportunity to work in very interesting bleeding edge technology. Great learning potential from other employees. Very nice and respectful way of treating employees.

Cons

Pay could be better. Human resources information isn't as available as it should be. Employees aren't treated the same way across the globe.

Pros

+ You can learn oracle from oracle , huge scope for picking new technologies and doing certifications. + Good work culture , unless you are unfortunate to work under a bad manager . + Good health benifits

Cons

+ No transparency , in hr policies and management polices . Though the policy says , you are free to move across Line of Businesses [LOB] , this will never happen unless you are too lucky . You join a LOB and mostly you have to retire from there . + Work style is mostly like a government organization, routine work through out the decades , promotions based on the number of years of experience irrespective of your contributions . + Good Compensations are history , day by day the board is becoming so greedy that they have indirectly gave a clue that there will not be any market correction till 2013 and it did not happen from 2008 . The worst part is they are recruiting and the new joiners are getting better paid and offered better positions . So you may have to train a person , who does not know anything about the job , but is drawing twice the amount of your salary. + The lower and middle management are just puppets. + No , work from home policy and No transportation to the office . In one word , oracle is golden trap. Looks green and gold when you are joining , but soon you will realize that you are rottening.
