Pros

Flexible time and good benefits. One good part about Oracle is you can keep your personal life. There is no limited sick days or work from home days. Management will also approve regular working from home schedule which is very nice.

Cons

Too much politics and no direct guidence of product direction. Too complex of development environment to be productive. Just like any big companies, you are not recognized by the good work you did. The bonus and salary raise often tie to your manager's relationship with senior management.

Pros

It's a market leader with its eyes on first place in each market area. The culture is very get-things-done. The top people are experts in their fields. The strongest product areas (i.e. database) are widening their leads over competitors. Lots of opportunities for customer feedback, and the customers are experts too who can help to hone employees' skills. Whether you want to work in a buttoned-down corporate-style team, or a small agile startup-style team, there's a product group that's right for you.

Cons

Career development is largely in the hands of each employee, and opportunities vary depending on the savvy of each area's management. The long adoption cycle for products means that it can take a long time before your cool new feature has a big impact. Old-timers and teams from newly acquired companies find themselves competing to prove who's product and processes deserve to become the standard. Some people operate, and some managers manage, out of an inordinate fear of getting fired.

Pros

Oracle is a solid employer offering competitive compensation packages. It's also big enough that you can find the right work-life balance somewhere in the company, but it may take some time to find it. Collaboration is critical to success because of the large number of people involved with every decision. But, its worth is demonstrated in the quality of the products we produce.

Cons

Oracle is big, and it keeps getting bigger. Standing out and getting your voice heard is a big challenge. Competition is everywhere and employees are very territorial, so focus on teamwork rather than individual contributions. Also, you may end up working here even if you go elsewhere due to constant acquisition-based growth.
