      Good company if you're a starter. Don't stay for long.

      Pros

      Big brand. Good growth opportunities if you're in California or India.

      Cons

      Compensation sucks. Too many acquisitions in recent years means the company doesn't have a culture anymore. Moreover, in all the layoffs that happened at Denver office (4 layoffs), not even a single manager was let go, while hundreds of individual contributors was shown the door. This is so unusual for a tech company, and reveals how the politics at Denver office works. Most of the Denver managers have been there for a long time because they are incompetent and won't find work elsewhere. This has created a culture of favoritism and mediocrity.

      Spanish management doesn't match well with international staff

      Pros

      As Oracle is a big company, in theory it always gives you the opportunity to change to a different place internally. It gives you access to many products and internal services. The work environment and staff are international, projects in different countries.

      Cons

      In this case (Malaga International Consulting Centre): The office was just opened recently so basically (in order to build up the centre) more people where hired, mostly in junior positions, than there is projects available. Lack of training, professional approach to work. There is no real communication with management, neither regarding project possibilities nor regarding the personal career options, experience in previous jobs and preferences are not taken into account

      Some learning, brand name, location, cafetrias, gym. Training programs (if you get lucky) Perks (discounts at name brand stores) Lot of "soft" benefits - internal knowledge bases, mailing lists (affinity, culture-based) Peers with all degrees of experience Opportunities to move between groups and functions Support for higher education (again, depends of the group and how savvy you are)

      Cons

      Extremely political. If you are not in the "right" group or under the "right" mgr... you know what is going to happen. Career development processes are an eye-wash (you have to chart your own course)
