Pros

- Experience and looks great on a resume.

Cons

- Compensation plan linked to Field performance. If you're stuck with an incompetent Field Rep, you're screwed and will not hit your OTE. Comp plan is also tiered and if you grow your deals past the first threshold, you get paid peanuts. - No Career development. Dial for dollars like a trained monkey. - High Turnover

Pros

oracle is a big name within the software industry and is highly regarded as a tough place to sell. i am sure that my experiences here will translate well when it comes time to move on. there are opportunities to move around within the company.

Cons

career progression opportunities are limited. to move from inside sales to outside sales is quite a coup, and rarely happens. management could be better, not a lot of support and timely communication about org. changes which happen very frequently. salary raises are extremely hard to come by

Pros

It is a huge company and have many resources. There are so many things, technologies and/or products that you can learn and try. It is all free because all owned by Oracle. The experience will enhance your technical skill and some of the products, to be frank, are fairly leading edge.

Cons

The schedule is so tight, they will not invest on training. You have to take initiative at your own time. Also, do not expect raise at all nor stock option grant instead negotiate a higher salary starting. Even your manager do want to give u a raise, her hand is tied. It is all control by the most upper management.
