Pros

It's huge, providing it with a lot of resources that allow it to be competitive in a wide range of areas. The benefits are decent, the compensation seems to be competitive, and for the attitude of most employees is positive.

Cons

It's huge, which makes it less efficient than many smaller companies. Those who work here who say things like "It's like the world's largest startup" haven't worked for a startup lately, if ever. There are often far to many people involved in a particular task or project, and it's not always clear who is actually in charge.

Pros

Oracle is a very stable and established company, which dominates the database market and is trying to grow its application business. There are many different groups and projects. In database there are a lot of hard core systems type development in good old C, dealing with compliation, optimization and execution of queries and DB supported languages. In apps you can choose to work on data modeling, GUI, business logic, etc. And also other groups like tools and maintenance, so there are definetely a lot of options. People can switch groups pretty easily. Ther attitude of most people is very professional.

Cons

Low bonuses and other incentives. Frugal spending. Slow promotions in some groups.

Pros

Large, Stable company with great benefits. The pay is pretty good, and the stock has been on the rise for at least 6 years. Like any big company, you have a secure job. You don't have to work extremely hard, and the campus is very nice. I've worked as both a remote employee and a HQ based one. Each were fulfilling jobs.

Cons

Promotions tend to be hard to get. Typical large company problems, where you feel like you can't make a huge difference. Sometimes the process can get in the way on innovation. Hence the amount of small acquisitions. Small companies tend to innovate better than large ones.
