      Pros

      The insurance is generally good and the job is relatively stable. Location wise it's convenient to most of the people in the bay area.

      Cons

      lack of innovation people are treated as just resources no career advancement opportunity politics salary is not very competitive

      Pros

      It was a good quality of life job in terms of flexibility. They do have access to a lot of interesting products, and I really enjoyed the team I had. I got a good "big company" education in terms of processes, global business, etc...

      Cons

      It was sometimes very hard to get things done, so a disproportionate amount of time is spent on process. Part of this is that they have a one-size fits all approach to many processes that work ok for their large teams, but tend to drown small acquired niche teams. There are a fair number of people punching the clock, so even though there were pockets of brilliance, there were also a lot of pretty mediocre people filling the ranks. You really have to be willing to play the long game and weather a lot of ups and downs to succeed at Oracle.
