Pros

Great to talk to customers and the feeling that you have actually helped people

Cons

None that I can really think of but sometimes the multi- tasking can get a bit too much

Pros

Wonderful opportunity for an American to learn about global non-profits in a foreign country

Cons

Not enough work for interns to complete all of the time. Supervisors had unrealistic expectations at times

Pros

Oxfam America has amazing people and one of the most sophisticated and nuanced approaches in the field. If you're looking to work with smart, dedicated people in an environment that allows for a healthy work/life balance, this is the place.

Cons

Very few, and no deal-breakers. When I was there, HR was generally considered a weak point, particularly at the senior levels. This was due more to cultural fit rather than competency, however.
