Pros

Good work atmosphere, well organised system that was easy to get used to. Staff were very friendly and I got along well with other volunteers.

Cons

There was not much communication between volunteers on different shifts, so hard to pass on information.

Pros

The atmosphere at Oxfam is great, most staff are down to earth, friendly and approachable, and very professional. The company treats their employees with respect and knows how to make them feel valued, even at the lower levels.

Cons

Too many unpaid intern/volunteer posts. Oxfam doesn't hire full time interns, so it's not really an 'elitist' activity, but what it does do is take away potential paid posts that could provide more paid jobs for entry-level candidates.

Pros

Opportunity to meet new people focused on ridding the world of poverty

Cons

Could be monotonous especially if working in a quiet branch
