Pros

Oxfam is a great organisation to work for, full of committed individuals and strong values that apply to all levels of work.

Cons

Oxfam GB and Oxfam International are headquartered in Oxford, which is currently the most expensive city to live in the UK if you compare salaries and cost of living, particularly housing. The organisation started a restructuring process 3 years ago that will continue until 2020.

Pros

I have worked for oxfam supply centre for 25yrs now. I love my job and the people i work with.I have seen people come and go in my time here.I would not change my job for nothing.I work to help all the the struggling people in the world. If we have a disater to respond to then its a case of all hands on the work floor to prepare the stock for the disaster.I dont mind if that means coming in early or going home late.I have a home to go to the disater i am responding to the people may not have anything. And thats why i love my job as i am helping people in need.

Cons

I cant really think of any down sides to working for oxfam. As i love my job thats why i have stuck at it for 25yrs.

Pros

With a few employers to compare against Oxfam is truly a great place to work. With such a huge range of business and programme activties I'm amazed at how it operated together, and how everybody felt they had a stake in the success of the organisation. From top to bottom people were really committed to doing their best for the organisation. That really permeated to the individual. It was an encouraging and inspiring environment to be in, and everybody had the chance to contribute their thoughts. Employee engagement felt high and communication was really string between the departments.

Cons

Pay and reward, as expected, was a bit low and could sometimes be a bit off putting after hard work. As a graduate and in Oxfordshire at their HQ, it was hard to reconcile at the lower end of the pay scale.
