Pros

No layoffs (yet) Good benefits It's not going under anytime soon Great training, ongoing training if your particular branch follows through Ability to move to different departments and different locations if needed. Still trying to believe in and hoping for the best out of this company

Cons

I've seen the changes over the last 5+ yrs. Sad. 5 yrs ago the company at least still had the "feel" of being employee oriented and supportive. They're not even trying to put on that front anymore. They "thank" us for our sacrifices (cuts to pay/benefits) then boast about profits and pleased shareholders. Members of the executive management team are dropping like flies...More like jumping ship. Golf courses will be packed with Paychex executive retirees. Employees know that something is going on, is not right, and that just adds to the stress of the already over worked, underpaid operations employees. Never been in sales so I can't speak to that. They've stopped managing employees and started micromanaging stats and dollars. Get those stats up, don't care how you do it, but make sure to roll over for the client while you're doing it and jump 3 times for the sales rep and once for HRS, smile and be "Paychex Proud". Productivity, productivity, producitivity using processes that are outdated and inefficient.

Pros

Amazing training and great team to work with, good beneftis and fun presidents clubs.

Cons

Micromanagement, too many reps in a small territories, sometimes it seemed you were competing more with your fellow co-workers than your competition. Bad implementation of sales force, it would take an hour a day to update to managements specs, also unfortunately the amazing people I worked with are no longer there.

Pros

Great employee/ job training. Decent insurance options

Cons

This employers starting pay rate is very low. Company requires two weeks in Rochester for tainging, not ideal for a young family. Paychex requires that an employee completes level work and that the employee is tested upon this infomation. The employees incentive is scheduled pay raises. However, if company stocks fall all raises are held, but the level work is still required.
