Hi and thanks for letting us know about your thoughts on the job. We’re happy to see that you’re having a good time with your colleagues and feel that you’re properly rewarded. We can imagine that moving office, and having a challenging work load can be demanding, so please don’t hesitate to reach out to your manager or HR if you’d like to discuss these matters more in depth. In any case, thanks again, and all the best.

Pros

By far the best aspect of working at Philips is the benefits package. The 401(k) matching is better than any company I have ever heard of, and the insurance options are reasonable and comprehensive. The Nashville, TN (Philips Plaza) office is newly renovated and includes sit-stand desks and dual monitors are every workstation. The people here are all friendly and seem to have a great deal of pride in the mission of Philips. Additionally, having paid (garage) parking just two blocks away is a nice perk that not many other downtown office workers get. The work-life balance is good for reps considering when you leave work there is not much that you take home with you, although middle-management seems to be heavily burdened even outside of working hours. Executive leadership, though overseas, seems to be well-grounded and generally leading the company well.

Cons

In my department in particular, under-performing reps tend to be micro-managed a fair amount more than what I would expect as normal. There are often times when management (even at the Director level) will create needless busy work that, at the end of the day, only gets in the way of selling. This could be due to the fact that our newly-created sales team is not performing as they expected and they seem to be on edge (leading to worry from reps if their job will be here in 6 months). Also, this job could be done 100% from home and yet they will not issue us laptops to work remotely.

Pros

This is a company that really cares about its employees. There is a great work- life balance and the training you receive is fantastic. Joining the Philips team was as good as a decision as I’ve ever made.

Cons

Salary seems to be a tad lower for entry level jobs. The rate of increase will not be as high yearly as some will want or expect.
