Pros

International mobility opportunities Diverse workforce Good compensation Good company mission

Cons

A lot of the on-boarding materials were outdated and not applicable any longer (VPN set up, meeting rooms map) Perhaps due to the flexibility in mobility and their commitment to diversity, The focus hasn’t been placed on developing expertise. There are technical expertise gaps in key management and SME roles creating re-work and spending too much time not truly understanding the problem or how to fix it. The use of 5 whys is and daily management reports is done poorly and creates busy work instead of identifying true root cause. When you lack the expertise on building software, you end up spending too much time spinning your wheels and not understanding the problem. True innovation will happen when we can leverage the resources of a large company without letting it slow us down with bureaucracy. Lots of toxic behaviors get tolerated and rewarded.

No meritocracy and accountability - no growth path in Canada

Pros

- It's a great and innovative company with a solid legacy. - The health-tech vision is solid and product quality is unrivaled. - They are experts in adapting to survive market changes and will drive though decisions to keep the business profitable. - Long term vision and planning. - Long-term employees (> 10 years) that are open to global assignments might have a solid career (read "cons" for conditions)

Cons

- There's no meritocracy at all. Good work will, at it's best, be thanked for with no compensation of proper - tangible - recognition. - That also means that there's no accountability in the business. No one is held accountable for mistakes, losses and mismanagement. This makes poor performers remain hired and blocking the path to growth. - Performance reviews are for show only. Be it for promoting or firing. - Top Management decides based on short term, solutions to benefit their careers and create long term problems that impact middle and junior management. - Processes are confusing and changes are not lead until they are fulfilled. The internal lack of organization leads to several financial and market opportunity losses. - As there's no meritocracy and performance reviews are for show, career opportunities will come based on replacement (if someone with a higher pay leaves) and if you are a top management favorite based on personal fit, nor professional performance. - It's a SLOW company. The long term planning part is solid, but if the short term performance lacks, they cannot react and adapt quickly. That usually leads to wide lay offs only to hire the heads counts back in a later year.
