Pros

The kind of projects one will get with Philips. Also learning opportunities with the cross cultural design folks across the world.

Cons

A lot. We are all IIT/ NID/Shrishti grads in the India studio, proven in design knowledge and industry experience. The leadership in the design studio however is run by favoritism . Anyone looking to apply to the design group here has to cautious that attrition has gone through the roof in the last 6 months...16 people resigned in the last 6 months- for a number to quote. The culture is stifling, impenetrable coz of politics, opposite of creativity and encourager of nepotism. Unless the design leadership in India changes, don't join Philips. I truly regret that a brilliant organisation is facing these problems and is unable to come to know of these problems.

Sucks

Pros

You meet some cool people Sometimes they have events like bbqs and pot lucks

Cons

Management doesn’t care about their staff. They have unrealistic expectations for metrics. They come to work and don’t do anything but will penalize you if you don’t do what they want. The hours suck. When you first start out you’re most likely working a 3pm-11pm shift with days off in the middle of the week. The program they use stops working so you are sometimes unable to answer an alarm for 5 mins. They’re constantly understaffed because they treat their employees like crap. The turn over is ridiculous

Poor leadership

Pros

Some great people who are passionate about what they do. Many long tenured employees - especially in field service.

Cons

Quality issues are rampant across many product lines. Repeated product holds and shutdowns not to mention huge issues in-field with implementation and support. No commitment to succession planning - they pay lip service to this, but there is no integrity from upper management. North American leadership is a joke.
