Pros

Not much, you can wear whatever you want. If you have a cool van leader you'll get home at a decent hour. The VP of marketing is a nice guy who understands how grueling this job really is.

Cons

First off, I'm disgusted by the number of fake reviews Power has been leaving on here. Absolutely terrible pay. 4% of marketers hit bonuses, which leaves the rest making a whopping 26k a year before taxes. If you get assigned to retail duty they will often have you drive to stores that are a couple hours away which is on your own dime unless you work retail all 5 days that week. In that case you get a whopping $60 gas stipend...hope you drive a hybrid. They will hire ANYONE, one day our van got stopped by a police officer and it turned out one of my "co-workers" had warrants out for his arrest. The cops took him away, but to my surprise two weeks later he was back on the job. Possibly the biggest con is the estimate system, you only get bonuses if you hit a certain number of estimates in a pay period. Although you have zero control over whether your appointments become estimates. Sometimes certain time slots will be over scheduled so they will reschedule your appointments...which for some crazy reason means you no longer get credit for them. If you dropped out of high school and have a criminal record then I guess you could do worse but they are dead set on bringing in college grads who pretty much all quit within a couple months.

Pros

The interview process is easy, considering the only qualification needed is a pulse. The one true upside is that their office positions are nice (but primarily, if not exclusively given to women) and it has nice earning potential if you do not have a degree. The office is nice for the 20 minutes you're in the office and not in a van or random neighborhood.

Cons

Everything. But to break it down further... Under performance is met with condescendence from management. Hours are long: Saturdays are required and because you're BEING DROPPED OFF BY A VAN IN A RANDOM NEIGHBORHOODS WITH VARYING DISTANCES FROM THE OFFICE, you will inevitably get home at varying times. Don't worry about your personality. They'll have a script for you to memorize for that too. Script is intentionally phrased to mislead the homeowners. "it's easy" isn't a real response when someone asks how long it will take. Avoiding a direct, honest answer is just a manipulative way of lying. "Outbound Marketing" is a real pretty way of saying you're going door to door. People don't like door to door salespeople (which you will be viewed as even if you aren't technically selling). Just do the math there about how you expect to be treated. "Skills" learned here will not be transferrable to any other jobs unless your goal is to make it in a sales career.

Pros

The once a year trip to Mexico. Trying to think about something positive on the job itself and I'm drawing a blank.

Cons

The culture. If you don't throw away your personal life and buy into spending all your time with the company, do not expect to advance within the company. Advancements are based on friendships first, then they will do their best to make the numbers align. If you do not like down time, this isn't for you. Average day is waking up and being ready for a 10 AM appt, sometimes not getting one til 7:30 PM. You're supposed to have a 2 hour heads up but that it very rarely the situation. Work m-f sometimes not getting home til early morning, and also Saturdays. Lastly, the product. We are hands down the most expensive roof on the market.. by 3 to 4 times. If you're not comfortable asking home owners to commit to a $30,000 roof before leaving the house, don't bother here. Remember, this is a straight commission position.
