Pros

I have been working at Power Home Remodeling Group for a little bit over a year now. I started in the Marketing Program and became a manager, then got promoted to Consultant in a little after 8 months. From top to bottom this company has only one thing in mind and that is GROWTH. That is by far the biggest pro to working at PHRG but that is definitely not the only one. Recently I graduated from school and wasn't sure what I wanted to do but the opportunity to grow that I found at PHRG almost didn't seem real until I saw it for myself. They push you to better yourself not only as a person but as an employee, they want you to want more. The environment and office lifestyle is better then any I could imagine. My entire life I have had jobs that involved landscaping and construction so I knew making that transition to an office lifestyle would be something I had to adjust to. Even though it is very professional in the office its very hard to find yourself bored. The relationships and friendships I have made in my time at PHRG make me love my job even more. I go into the office everyday with people who are extremely motivated and not only want to succeed themselves but push you to have the same success. That is something that I think is hard to find in a lot of companies. The last thing that comes to mind for me is the fact that its an entire family. From the headquarters in Chester, PA to the office in Atlanta, GA everyone is pushing you to be the best you can be. I have visited both Atlanta and the Long Island office in my career with PHRG and have met so many other employees from the other offices. Everyone is pushing each other to be the best they can be EVERY SINGLE DAY. Thats what makes working at PHRG a great experience.

Cons

The only con that I have and its no longer an issue is adjusting to the schedule. You do have some long days but in saying that once you figure out the schedule you can make the adjustments so that you still maintain your lifestyle (going to the gym, hanging out with family and friends, etc)

Pros

Culture- coworkers are all very chill, young adults, seldom big paychecks Experience- good sales experience depending on what you take from it

Cons

A LOT... Marketing... -you can either knock on doors in all types of weather/conditions to set appointments for a free estimate on windows, roofing, siding, doors... or pitch/annoy people in retail(BJ's stores) but which-ever you choose, you still have to work events on weekends when they are scheduled, even if its not your weekend to work! -they dont care if its snowing,thunder/lightning/heat wave, they want you out there pitching till you die -pay structure/bonus changes every year -the system.. there is too many people involved from start to finish, marketers $$ depends heavily on the call center, scheduling, inside sales, the actual sales guy(consultant) that runs the appointment and also the home owner. -if you set an appointment, and the home owner reschedules for another day, you dont get paid! even if they buy $xx,xxx worth of overpriced products. -you lie to the home owner every day! tell them its quick and easy, when it really takes 2-4 HOURS. you say they dont sub-contract.. but ALL the installers are indeed SUB-CONTRACTORS -you also set them up for a "hard-sale". they think they are getting free info, but when the guy wont leave unless they sign up for something, and its 1am(hes been there since 6:30-7:30pm) its really not right -the products are marked up ridiculous because they have to pay so many people -you have to ride in FILTHY vans with 3-5 other guys daily. Guys leave old food, drug paraphernalia, "dip" cups full of nasty spit, old smelly clothes, etc. Many times people are sick and spreading germs everywhere. -sometimes home owners answer the door with guns because you knocked and its dark outside and they werent expecting anybody. -cops get called all the time for soliciting without permits -so many people come and go(REVOLVING DOOR) -some coworkers come in drunk/hungover or high on pain killers, weed, dope, etc. -the most unprofessional company in a corporate building Sales.... -have to increase your car insurance coverage so you can run appointments -commission only (paid out at 33% of your draw) -some days you have NO appointment=no opportunity to make $$ -1 bad month can end your career, even if you were one of the best producers the rest of the year -so many people come and go(REVOLVING DOOR) -politics and favorites everyday -use your own car and gas! -basically on-call everyday.

Pros

Some cool coworkers, everyone is a young dude because they don't hire anyone else. Job is stressful, but not exactly important.

Cons

The job kills your soul. You go door to door trying to swindle people into a 1-call close. Managers are incompetent, every morning meeting is a freaking joke. No one wants to get on the phone and share all of their personal details. People get ripped off by this company, they lie 24/7/365. Marketers get told they can make 100k a year. BS!
