Pros

This is a great job for those of you who don't have a college education. If you have a college education, or great work experience with other organizations, you can find something better. Plus, they will hire anyone, so those 4 years you spent in college feels like a complete waste. Why can they hire anyone? Because it's ALL SCRIPTED. The recruiter, the Business Development Reps aka door-to-door sales, and Remodeling Consultant... it's all a script. So, if you're very good at lying, and don't care about integrity... you'll succeed!

Cons

The problem is that the Business Development Rep (BDR) is creating/pushing appointments by knocking on doors (even if the customers don't need the products) and telling home owners that the price is guaranteed for the future, and that the work is not for now, but for down the road. This creates a disconnect between the BDRs and the Remodeling Consultants because the Remodeling Consultant is only able to earn a commission if they close on the same day. So, if leads are generated by promising a price for the future, it creates a problem for the Remodeling Consultants because the price is guaranteed for a year. So, if any smart homeowner says, "Hey let me think about it" and decides to move forward the next day, the Remodeling Consultant get's NOTHING, even if you spend 3-4 hours demoing a product. The company will tell you that they give you every tool to close that day, but most homeowners who are looking to spend +$10K on a project is not going to sign a contract that day. Plus, if your'e the customer - doesn't it feel shady if a sales person is pushing you to sign today? A customer will do research, call other companies, get a quote, and compare, and talk it over with other decision makers in private before signing. Just think about it: Someone who buys a home does research about the neighborhood, school district, property tax and compare it to other neighborhoods before buying their largest investment aka their home. If you peel back the onion, the business model is designed so that the revenue goes straight to the top because any rational home owner won't sign that day and will sign in the future. Also you work Saturdays!

Pros

I have been working for the company for close to two years now even though the covid-19 era. I have a bachelor's in biology and came out of school looking for an entry-level sales job. So, this job can be done by anyone and does have some depth to it. I was skeptical about it being 100% commission. I decided to take the interviews which led me to an offer for a position. I haven't looked back since. The company is rated so high for good reason. The job is difficult there's no way around it. It's a high dollar amount with high stakes. I wouldn't consider myself a natural salesman, but the training the company provides is top-notch. There is a system in place to follow proven to yield results. It can take some time to develop the nuances and so-called x-factor of the job, but that comes with experience. There are a lot of resources and support given for the role too. You are definitely not left on a desert island. If you can dig deep and commit yourself to the role it becomes very rewarding. There is also a lot of upward mobility if you can prove yourself to be good at the basics. They talk a big game about earning potential and it's not a lie. The average earnings in a bad year are 60k. This past month, I have earned about 30k alone. A lot of people make north of 100k a year and top earners are clearing 200k a year. It does require you to work nights and weekends, but you're not working very long. So you can make a ton of money, working for a few hours each day. As far as culture goes, the company is pretty progressive and has a stance on a lot of social issues. I do really enjoy a company that is willing to have hard conversations in today's climate. There's also a lot of social events and the trip to Mexico is always a blast. Overall, this job will make or break you, there's no doubt about that. But, if you can get through the learning curve it will build you as a better person inside and outside of the workplace. It's a steep learning curve yet they'll give you any support and training you need. As with any job, you need to commit yourself to the craft and perfect it. Once that happens you can have great success and development. The last benefit is the company does provide full dental, health, and vision benefits plus a 401k match which is pretty stellar. I would recommend it to anyone.

Cons

The schedule can be tough not knowing when you're going to finish. That's my only complaint about the job, but when you make the kind of money you can it becomes a lot less painful. Don't let the schedule or commision deter you from the role.

Pros

At first it seems like a great opportunity

Cons

They lie about the position you are hired for and then make you memorize scripts for weeks. The scripts are poorly written with awkward wording. It’s a sham, waste of time and energy.
